The park

The equivalent of the prison courtyard, the shrinking parks of modern cities are, at best, sad reminders of the earth with which modern civilization has almost wholly lost touch. Gated, with opening and closing times, these are not spaces of freedom but most often museums of an environment modern civilization has consciously destroyed. Often planted with non-local foliage, they are not even the last representations of what the land might look like if left alone. They are nowhere to go, and they say there is nowhere to go.

The Atrocity Museum is somewhat open to submissions, at least from those who understand the nature of the everyday tedium.
